Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis wanted to help his old Kentucky home one more time, as part of the state deals with the destruction and tragedy of flooding. Eastern Kentucky was hammered by heavy rains that destroyed homes and sadly saw many lives lost.

As the cleanup begins and the surrounding areas and the country try to help eastern Kentucky stand strong again, the University of Kentucky basketball program decided to help out in a big way.

The Wildcats basketball program raised over $2 million through a telethon and NIL deals. Former Wildcat Anthony Davis put the funds over $3 million after he donated $350,000 to help those in eastern Kentucky.

Wildcats head coach John Calipari tweeted the news about Davis’s contributions and how NIL helped the program give as much as possible to the flooding victims.

Anthony Davis spent one season in Lexington, and that was all he needed to become a legend at Kentucky.

Davis was the first Wildcat to take home National Player of The Year honors, and he helped lead the Wildcats to their eighth National Championship in 2012. While Davis will forever be remembered for his playing time at Rupp Arena, he should also be remembered for his love and compassion.
