The NCAA came under immediate fire during March Madness over major disparities between the men’s and women’s weight rooms in Indianapolis and San Antonio, respectively.
Oregon forward Sedona Prince took to social media to show the differences between the men’s and women’s weight rooms for the NCAA Tournament. The redshirt sophomore shared a video that showed a full weight room for the men, but just a rack of dumbells and yoga mats for the women.
The NCAA moved to fix the issue and the new women’s weight room has arrived in San Antonio ahead of the start of the tournament on Sunday.
ESPN College GameDay was on the scene to give a quick tour of the new weight room.
It’s good to see that the NCAA corrected their mistake, but it should have never happened in the first place. And let’s be honest, if no one would have put the NCAA on blast, the upgrade would have never happened.
