The Michigan basketball team is safe after the team’s charter plane slid off the runway during an aborted takeoff today due to high winds — gusts over 60 mph have been reported in the Ann Arbor/Detroit area. As you can see from the photos, the plane skidded over an embankment and came to a stop.
The team was flying out of Willow Run Airport, which is in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
Our team and everyone in our travel party is safe. Update on today’s travel accident.
